# Scheduler Overview

Scheduler swaps a file's content in and out automatically at a set date and time, without anyone needing to manually publish the change when the date arrives. Each entry in a Scheduler is a file plus a start date; whichever entry has the most recent start date that's already passed is the one that's live. Add a second entry with a later start date and Scheduler automatically switches to it the moment that date arrives.

Scheduler is commonly used to:

- Publish content at a specific date and time, without staying online to do it manually.
- Rotate a series of announcements or promotions on a page over time.

Once you've [added a Scheduler](/engage/scheduler/add-scheduler/), it appears in this list. Click its name to open this Overview and manage it.
