# Dynamic Div

A dynamic div is a blank, editable content region &mdash; the basic building block you drop text, images, or other content into via <a href="/websites/page-overview/#in-line-editing">in-line editing</a>.

**Step 1**: While editing a page, find the vertical icon rail on the left edge of the page canvas. Dynamic Div is the top icon (a **+**).

**Step 2**: Drag it onto an empty region of the canvas. Unlike every other component in the rail, Dynamic Div has no picker &mdash; it inserts directly and is immediately ready for content.
